In this series of classes led by Wilson Hurley*, we will meet twice a month to practice meditation and discuss various teachings on the Buddhist Path. Our hope is to create a friendly atmosphere in which participants at all levels of study and practice can find community and inspiration. This series is designed for beginners as well as for more advanced practitioners. We will meet in Fairfax, VA and you are welcome to attend in person (the address will be provided when you RSVP) or via Zoom (see the link below).

*We are going through this text slowly to allow ample time for discussion and clarification. Here is a video of the February 1st meeting: https://youtu.be/pp9vMoRhNVg.

In our discussion of basic Buddhist tenets of rebirth, karma, and enlightenment, I promised to provide an article exploring some of the available scientific evidence indicating that the mind is immaterial, might survive physical death, and might be subject to rebirth. If you have not already read it, it might be helpful to do so before the next meeting: https://jmb-online.com/pdf/05/JMB-45-1-2024-95.pdf

Please bring your thoughts, questions, and debate points! Please email us: sopanyima21@gmail.com if you want to continue receiving notifications for the Dharma Friends classes. Class dates may not be listed on the website!
